A new Minnesota state law banning crypto ATMs will take effect on August 1. According to Odaily, the machines must be taken offline by August 1 and physically removed from stores by the end of the year.At the time the bill was passed, there were about 350 licensed crypto ATMs in the state operated by eight companies. The Minnesota Department of Commerce said it investigated 134 complaints involving crypto ATMs from 2023 to 2025, and state residents lost nearly $1 million. Law enforcement said these transactions are often routed overseas and are difficult to trace.
